Matthew Zappone brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience to his role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As Plamondon Companies continues to grow, Matthew’s expertise is the perfect fit to manage strategic financial initiatives for both the hospitality and restaurant divisions of the organization.

The role of CFO offers opportunities to work closely with the operations team, marketing team, legal partners, lenders and investors, and internal team members. Matthew’s ability to navigate the nuanced relationships between so many stakeholders is one of many reasons he’s a valuable part of the leadership team. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial management for large organizations, having worked at companies such as Capital One and Verizon. Most notably, he spent 25 years at Marriott International in various Finance and Accounting roles supporting their Global Operations, Global Brand, Global Design, Information Technology, Engineering, and Sustainability teams. During his Marriott tenure, Matthew led the Sustainability Finance team in support of Global Operations’ Climate Action Program to drive investment and enhance energy efficiency at over 9,000 hotels.

Matthew holds a B.A. in Economics from Dickinson College, and earned his Masters in Financial Management from the University of Maryland. He lives in Gaithersburg, MD with his wife and three children, and when he’s not in the office, Matthew can be found enjoying the outdoors on local rivers, trails, and his local golf course.
